Looking for realism oriented units to join ATC
Hi all
I would like to introduce you the ATC, ArmA Tactical Combat
We're presently looking for realism/simulation Units to join our multiplayer PvP campaign
Our focus is to provide the appropriate environment to clans and individuals as they can play using tactics and strategy, using large scale forces (50 vs 50 players) in the battlefield to accomplish their objectives. ATC is not a series of battles for points. ATC stresses the use of real military protocols and procedures.
ATC is carried out with one-per-week Ground Control battles between two platoon sized forces having armored and air support
Thus, the ATC takes place in a series of purpose-made game maps (all of them following a precise and unique template which is freely consultable here).
Enlisting is re-opened to permit new realism oriented teams to participate. The site is renewing as we will become ATC War Simulator. For further details on ATC war simulator features please contact me.
If you want to enrol please apply here and/or contact me
Looking forward to hearing from you - if anyone interested we may discuss details in a TS meeting
Best regards and good luck in battles

Re: Looking for realism oriented units to join ATC
Hi all, I post a FAQ list, hope it helps to illustrate the ATC gameplay
(sorry I do not speak Polish neither I know a translator!)
For a description of the campaign, see here
http://www.arma-tactical-combat.com/php ... f=17&t=107
ArmA2 TACTICAL COMBAT, THE CAMPAIGN: FAQs LIST
1. Battle day and time: tuesday at 20.30 GMT
2. Trainings
The trainings are depending on the faction (there willbe 2 factions consisting of allied teams, so the two factions will organize their own trainings, as an example we do a recon on map on thursday and a general training on monday), the two factions will nominate a general commander that will lead the operations, he is responsible for briefing and organizing his own faction forces, of course the commander can rotate if this is the agreement betweeen teams in the alliance, or can be the same for all the campaign
3. Can my team stick together during operations?
Definitely yes, you will be in one of the two factions with your team organization, and you will retain your tag, the aim of the ATC is to emphasize team work and cooperation between teams, your team will be allied with other teams and as specified above there will be a general commander who will lead
the operations, this commander is nominated by the faction and is responsible for elaborating and discussing the strategy with the squads leaders, of course each squad leader will have a precise objective and task in the operations. The battles are meant to be not only infantry but we will have also spec ops, armored units, helis, as our aim is to "simulate" as far as possible a military campaign between two armies not just a skirmish or a commando action
Another important thing to stress is that each soldier will have a precise role (examples rifleman, machine gunner, AT, crewman and so on..), and the equipment is adequate for the role, this means there are weapons restrictions to avoid everyone carrying the same equipment (examples all snipers or all heavy AT), the squads composition is made on the basis of real squads (of course this is much country-dependent so we have to set up some compromises to have "realistic" but flexible squads
4. About respawn
There is respawn but only for human personnel and transport vehicles, while combat vehicles and helis are limited in number. The reason of human personnel respawn is that the battle is 2
hrs long and we are simulating a war, not just a commando action, in this case the respawn is justified by the fact that it simulates reinforcments coming from behind the lines
I have to say that the soldiers will respawn in the main bases, and the bases are far away from the frontline, they can be as far as around 15-20 min by ground, so the death will be in any case penalizing for the squad, it will disrupt the squads that need to regroup. i think personally is not the respawn itself that makes the game realistic or not but the way the game is played, in this case we do not want to transform 2 hrs battle into a simple deatmatch
5. How realistic?
How realistic, this is hard to say, of course it is a videogame after all!! There is no rush to sectors, no points, we tried to develop a gameplay that emphasizes the use of a strategical approach, alliances, cooperation between teams, it is very important to have a good faction commander, good allies and good enemies as well, scores are not important but the use of good tactics, of course it is all dependant on players but the gameplay is discouraging those who just want to see statistics and score board
6. Mods/Addons
No mods or addons for the moment, but we can consider this for the future (for example ACE2 when we have a definitive more stable version)
Plese feel free to ask other questions and I'll add to the list
Thanks for attention

Re: Looking for realism oriented units to join ATC

Re: Looking for realism oriented units to join ATC
Zalecam ostrożność. Mój klan kiedyś uczestniczył w tym projekcie, daliśmy sobie luz gdy zaczęli przycinać sloty dla naszych graczy ("bo koledzy chcą pograć też i to teraz") mimo wcześniejszych ustaleń.

Ciekawa sprawa, jest ktoś z tym powiązany ?
Re: Looking for realism oriented units to join ATC
ATC wystartowało dobrych kilka tygodni temu. Od początku biorą w rozgrywkach udział polskie klany 8BZ i EC po stronie OPF.

Virtual Battle 1st Campaign Veteran.
